There should be borders that you can put around your avatar that you can get from either buying a rank or by hitting rep/post milestones. Something like what Hypixel has for their forums.

I can see what you mean by it would get messy. I was just trying to think of something to spruce up the sidebar as I think it is kind of plain as of now.
We all have our own opinions.
Considering MC-Market aims to be a marketplace that's at least semi-professional, we've designed our theme as such. I don't like the idea of adding clutter to our site for the sake of removing plainness. If a part of the site seems plain, that's probably intentional since it doesn't need to draw your attention to it.
