Ladies, gents and significant others, I present a revolutionary game changing idea...

**drum roll...**

Remove the ban list!

Since I don't want a bunch of trolls causing trouble on this particular site, I'm gonna message you (Ajdin) a little link for some reading.

Additionally: Suggestion - Selfban for Premium & Supreme.
There is no decent site that has this, and for perfectly perfect reasons.

Ty.

Oh, and I'm aware that most of y'all disagree. Frankly, I don't care. Most of you have a shitty sense of opinion anyway, therefore I don't need to provide any reasons, because you wouldn't understand them anyway. The only reason you need is "hf and [Censored] do it!!!"

Oh, edit: a summary;
The summary of reasons was:
  • It gives banned users attention
  • It is a public shaming process and simply unnecessary
  • It causes unnecessary drama
  • It's immature
  • It has no value at all, and won't stop others from committing the same offences
  • It portrays rule breakers at martyrs. Quality members have no spot of fame, assholes do
  • The reason for a ban cannot be exhaustive

No, absolutely no for removing ban list. It is nice to know who got banned for what reason on a list that you can search up rather than bothering staff for the ban reason on a banned user multiple times.
You don't do either, because it's none of your business. The fact that they're banned is enough to say you're unable to do deals with them on site. And as it goes, anything offsite is offsite and a privately conducted deal.

That's why i lost faith in humanity

Yea, however, most of the ban reasons is scamming. Usually, scams have a link to a scam report which any user can access and see why they get banned. It also helps staff to find the ban reason of them. If this list gets removed, it just going be harder for the members to find people to do legit deals. Easily, they can fall under any impersonators and skype names. Also, you just going make staff job harder if they trying to find alts and ban reason for it.

The forum also has a search feature and staff have their own tools to search for a user and find out exactly why they were banned. You think they use that stupid list? And no, it won't be harder, because you can't contact banned users on site at all and they can't contact you. It is not staff responsibility to find lays and the reasons you mentioned, a ban list doesn't help with any of that...?

Time to barrage the summary.
  • I give you that one. Some users may get attention but the banned user can't post so, therefore, they can't respond to the people reactions unless they make an alt.
  • It isn't public shaming if they break the rules. We, the community of mcm, don't public shaming on a banned user often. When we do, it is usually scamming rarely though.
  • Ehh, I don't see a lot of drama with the banned users. I just see people reactions to it and that is it. Name some drama events that occur to counter my argument.
  • Immature? How is it immature to have a list of names of banned users which most of them got banned for scamming?
  • Any proof of value?
  • Most rule breakers are people who scammed from other people on mcm. Quality members do have a spot of fame. Like Zap, Tulip, Renovix, OG, Sloth, Croc, and many more users do have a spot of fame that are helpful to the community of mcm.
  • Why can't bans be exhaustive? A ban reason with a complete summary of why that user is banned is enough to make the user not bothering staff of why the user got banned.
Provide some arguments and proof of this. I know for 100 percent fact that this suggestion would not be added unless you made legit valid points with evidence.

I don't think the banlist should be removed. I mean, it has been moved to a more discreet place that not everyone knows about yet - with a new layout as well.
  1. It gives banned users attention - I don't really think it does.... do people discuss banned users on this forum all the time? Only Skill and Ew (barely nowadays) for the most part - and other people are discussed and then forgotten.
  2. It is a public shaming process and simply unnecessary - Public shaming? Most people don't even look at it - they ask other people to look at it.
  3. It causes unnecessary drama - Not really, no.
  4. It's immature - Not really, no.
  5. It has no value at all, and won't stop others from committing the same offences - It won't, but it does show other users the repurcussions are serious.
  6. It portrays rule breakers at martyrs. Quality members have no spot of fame, assholes do. - Quality members have their notable members lists.
  7. The reason for a ban cannot be exhaustive. - Why can't they be exhaustive?
Also; Cooltime2 pretty much summed it up amazingly.

Wait... Where did it go. I can't even access it.
click on members at the top of the page and then banned members.

I like the new format and removing the banned list is a stupid idea. this is a marketplace and we need to know who was banned and for what reasons so we do not get hit by scammers. Anyone who thinks the ban list should be removed is basically saying i want to be scammed.
