Ban Promotion in Chat

I come on MC-Market like once a week exclusively for the Shoutbox and a decent percentage of people are using it for promoting threads, rather than having discussions.

"3.4 Do not send multiple advertisement messages within twenty minute increments."​

This needs to be automated.

Within a 15 minute period just under 25% of messages sent were promoting something and not contributing to any conversation at all.

Perhaps the answer would be a separate channel for promoting stuff that I'm sure everyone would be interested in.

Or the problem lies in that new content isn't visible enough, so perhaps the recent threads/recent posts should auto refresh and could contain more posts.


Currently, you're paying for an upgrade to remove ads and at the same time gaining access to a chat that's full of them.

Just my 2¢, maybe you find that this is part of the MC-Market experience.

I really have no problem with advertising in the shout box as I consider it a privilege of premium, however, I do think a seperate channel for promotions would be quite nice but not completely necessary.

This has been suggested probably a dozen times since you left the site, so I can understand how you may have missed it.

If there was a separate page for people to post their advertisements on then the only people who would even see the ads are the people posting their own.

There is no “problem” with the advertisements and they aren’t just a negative to people who purchase the account upgrades.

In the future please check that you’re not suggesting something that’s already been denied a bunch.
