Ban Reps For Free Spotify/Hulu accounts

I'm sure their has been a thread like this before but I think they should ban people from gaining rep for a Free Spotify/Hulu account due to the fact that people exploit this for rep and end up scamming people claiming they have high enough rep to not go first or use a middle man ect. If you want to give away free accounts ect that's fine but I don't think you should receive a rep seeing as your doing it for free/kindness of your heart.

There's not really a good way to do this, you just can't really ask for rep for anything. Its a shitty thing yeah but you just have to look who you're dealing with.

It's really stupid tho I've seen people get like 5 rep in under an hour just from this and people always tend to get scammed because they claim to be reputable for giving away 3 cent spotify accounts.

What's a "ban rep" ?

I just mean like make these rep's invalid or ban obtaining rep for a free service like the people giving away spotify,netflix,hulu accounts ect for reputation.

People just need to read the reps, if most of the reps are from unknown randys just don't deal with the person

Some people just don't think to much about it which sucks but that's why these reps should be invalid

Yeah I agree fully with the fact of it but there's just not a super easy way to implement something like this (of what I can think of)

I agree with this, but at the same time, just check their rep history. If all their rep is from Spotify and Hulu accounts and they're selling you a Minecraft account or something they have no history in what's so ever, deal with them as if they have no rep. Be careful, and really know who you're dealing with.

100% correct. Just because someone has a green number next to their name doesn’t mean they are automatically unable to scam you. I miss when we didn’t have a reputation system and you had to actual be smart about doing business.

The rep system is good because you can read what views people have on others, but people abuse it and just look at it the wrong way. Like look at some peoples negs that make no fucking sense at all (for example Capaldi has some pretty dumb ones, one literally says *anti-homophobic*), Those shouldn't oppose you to dealing with someone while a bunch of negs for exiting or not being good at what they do or something else like that should. Same thing goes for pos rep really, I wouldn't go first for someone who has 30 rep thats all free spotify upgrades but people don't look at it and don't realize until after they get their item(s)/money yoinked.

I don’t do a lot of business on here anymore and mainly stick to the forum threads. Yet the one thing that always makes me laugh is when someone who joined 2-3 years after I joined talks down to me like I have no idea what I’m talking about because I don’t have any reputation.

When you tell them this they usally say their not asking for a rep in exchange that it's free but once you recieve the free item they always like "A rep would be appreciated"

I usually just ignore them if they say that. One user asked me a question and I answered it and without telling me he left me a positive reputation. When he did this he immediately asked me to do the same for him and when I didn’t he got upset.
