What the title says.

Either ban service teams from the site altogether or give them their own section or subforum, perhaps each nested under each category, like this:

Forums
--- Development
------ Plugin Development
--------- Service Teams

I'm tired of watching forums for commissions and then getting spammed with notifications because random service teams trying to make a quick buck are making so many threads. In the last 10 hours, I've gotten notifications from 2 new teams. That's 5 this week. I'm tired of it. I go and see at 6 AM and just see it's a service team. Not fun.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Blaze.

Confirm on-site, or don't idrc.

Suggestions like this have been made in the past. None have been accepted just due to the fact that it 'wouldn't be fair to the service teams'.

I doubt this will be accepted.

It may not be "fair to them" but it's fair to everyone else who uses the website. At least moving them to a new section would help. I could simply ignore each "team" but there's new ones every day and it's horrible.

So does a solution. Justis R's Post On The Other Thread
This has been suggested multiple times already. Please do your best to ensure you’re not posting duplicate suggestion threads. Especially when they’re recent and still open: https://www.mc-market.org/threads/590235/

I’ve responded the same thing to all of the older threads, but we already have a plan for service teams, and it’s not throwing them into a separate section. We will have a filter option, that will enable searchers to differentiate between threads posted and not posted by service teams. It’s under development already.

This general suggestion of "service teams are unnecessary and complicated and thus should be removed" has been made before.

It's been denied from what I can tell for 2 reasons.

1. There are a majority of these service teams that go out of their way to embarrass themselves and give the "service team industry" a bad rep. There are a minority if legitimately high quality, even legally registered, and properly managed service teams. They make enough profit to keep themselves running and are upholding the essential point of capitalism, which is to out compete your competitors.

Look to hosting industry for example, theres plenty of "summer hosts", but do we ever hear complaints of trying to ban all hosting companies all together? Maybe the few absurd who have dared posted and most likely got roasted for their stupid suggestion. Why hasn't this happened? Because there's enough of the minority to uphold the standard of hosting. Not all hosts are just a summer host looking to make a quick buck. Many are but that's a different problem and not one that can be solved with banning the hosting section. The hosting section has a verified and unverified section and tbh, has been doing alright.

2. Service teams in of themselves, naturally consist of many services/products to be sold. It DOES NOT make sense to categorize them all into 1 category if their services are a conglomerate of other services. What would you call Google? Amazon? Apple even? Maybe you're going to say I'm comparing "apples to oranges", but let me get my point across.

The companies I mentioned are large. Not just because of their status quo and tons of other smaller subsidiary companies, but because their business model has evolved to take on SO MANY different services and products! They don't belong to any "one sector" or "industry" , by definition of their strategy to grow and please shareholders and dominate many markets they are "service teams" in this respect.

Fiverr and Freelancer are sites that can be compared to service teams. Is anyone going out of their way to say "we need to legally ban them from promoting themselves everywhere?" NO! Sure there's plenty of bad reviews about these companies everywhere cuz of all the complaints of customers venting out on forums, youtube, other media outlets, but these "service teams" stay around because its a profitable business. They know what they're doing. They have shareholders to answer to. They have people to answer to. They are competing with one another and that is one of capitalism's principles.

Although this discussion has been started many times before, I still stand in the belief that anyone should be able to start whatever business they want. In reality, service teams are so competitive, hardly any of them even make money. This will obviously get denied again.

Service teams occurred naturally on MC-Market without any staff intervention. They formed because freelancers and clients like the support and management that they provide.

We're not going to be implementing any new policies specifically restricting service teams. As long as they're following all of our other rules then they're well within their rights to do anything that they're currently doing.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion
