Ban vouch copies.

Okay I know I am going to get alot of hate because of this but I don't care if you want to argue please pm me on here.


Okay so I am sick of seeing people that are new to the forums that have created something themself being spammed with "Vouch copy?". I haven't been on the forums for a while but from what I have seen its just ridiculous.

I don't have a problem with players that don't often ask for vouch copies but I have a problem with the people that basically just abuse their reputation on the forums to get free stuff off new people.

So what I am suggestion is that you put a limit on how many vouch copies people can ask for or set a certain amount of reputation needed to ask for one.


IF YOU WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS PLEASE MESSAGE ME ON HERE AND JUST KEEP THE THREAD CLEAN BECAUSE IT IS JUST A SUGGESTION.

I like this idea.
Maybe telling someone to go back create a portfolio by yourself and for yourself.
Then allow them to give out one vouch copy ( just one ).
This vouch copy will then be used to see if the user is genuine or not.

You, sir, are correct!

Though users with high reputation may obtain free items the less reputable members have the option to give the stuff away for free. Also, this prevents lots of scams from occurring I can assume so that is always a positive.

I do understand the feeling but I don't believe that new users (including myself) are taken advantage of.

But you also have to see from where a new person comes on here to earn a few bucks gets harassed for vouch copies when all he/she wants to do it earn a few bucks.

Yeah I don't think they should be banned fully but maybe if McMarket hire a developer that can make a rank that allows people to hit a button to request a vouch copy.

Vouch copies are neccessary to prevent people who are new and don't know better from being scammed. The # of vouch copies should be the decision of the seller, not mandated by MCM.

Okay so lets say you just joined McMarket to sell a plugin you made for like $1 and people are spamming you for a free copy of it. Do you not think that they would feel unsettled because of it? I do I feel unsettled that they come to make few bucks but people are just asking for it for free even though you put your time and effort into creating it and the whole part about being scammed the player with the lowest reputation goes first because they person with the higher reputation has more to lose.

Reputation does not = ratings. Though its often misused as such. If a person wants to give out vouch copies and get plenty of vouches, it shouldn't be for "high rep" people. If you get a good working copy, you should vouch, there's no loss in not vouching lol. As for the lower rep people, that should be completely be irrelevant and instead we should move to the minimum activity/posts of spigot rule.

But that doesn't make the McMarket look like a good place if its just full of threads being spammed for free copies.

then the people who spam will just be banned. just because a few people are assholes and spam doesn't mean vouch copies should be ruined for everyone

take E-books for example. Haven't been banned, but rarely work, but some give vouch copies to prove it. Take builders with no portfolio or starting server config setups, they need to be vouched of trustworthy services by performing HQ quality before making any profit whatsoever.

Yeah, they can just say no more vouch copies after a certain point and report people still asking. I see no point in banning it.

It wont be ruined for everyone. As I said in my post there should be a system set in place for were only reputable players can request a vouch copy.

if i create something i should be able to give a vouch copy to anybody that i want, it shouldn't be dictated by anyone because i am the one who made it

The OP can control who gets the copies. It is essentially their choice, not the community's. While we're talking about vouch copies, I constantly see members with 100-200 posts asking for them and I cringe.

I saw this guy with 0 rating ask for it once >> reported his post >> 2 days later he was banned for spamming vouch copy on like every thread
