Hi there. I run a Minecraft community called BayCraft.

I’m looking for someone that can help with server administration & troubleshooting. Example tasks would be:
  1. Performance / resource tuning. Example: Analyzing timings for performance improvement opportunities & proposing changes.
  2. Non-MC sysadmin work. Example: Migrating our DynMap web hosting to its own server.
  3. Researching bugs. Example: one player reports that villagers are teleporting through walls out of his enclosure. Is one of our plugins causing this? Investigate by duplication server into a dev environment, reproducing issue, narrow cause by eliminating plugins and retesting, etc.
  4. General ad-hoc consultation / Q&A
Documentation is important. I’m looking for someone with strong communication skills who’s willing to update our internal technical docs when they make changes, etc.

I’m looking for an open-ended engagement, billing hourly for ongoing work. I’m guessing there might be 5 hrs/week for the next few weeks, with a trickle after that, but hard to say.

If you’re potentially interested, let me know. First step would be a voice or video chat to talk more and see if there’s a mutual fit!
