Looking through previous threads (In the declined suggestions section) wanting a to achieve the same thing but in the accounts section, I have found out that the reason you will not be able to edit threads in the accounts section is that will result in the form being ruined and the original post being messy and filled with unnecessary information.
I have instead proposed that we have the power to edit our posts outside of the Marketplace as that probably won't have any negative consequences.
Here are some examples of this implementation being beneficial:
I think the marketplace should be exempt from this because the thread's prefix can be easily changed to whatever they want rendering editing the original thread pointless.
(Except in the case of bidding

Many forum games will benefit from the original post being able to be edited:
Changing the game rules
Changing the reply format

Threads like this one (by me) can benefit from this since I plan to make spoilers in my thread detailing each email instead of just adding more posts.
In the same way, people can tell a story that is still ongoing without replying to thread everytime the story needs to be updated

Say a user proposes several ideas and makes a thread about it.
One of the ideas is particularly disliked so criticizers reply the thread stating so.
The problem is that more and more people will criticize the idea if it is still displayed on the original post.
