Hey, it would be cool for the modmakers if we could sell our mods, I mean adding the selling tag to the mods section!

There are "Offering" and "Requesting" tags in the mod development forum.
If you are selling a mod, then you are also offering a mod. The offering tag would be applicable in that case.

Unless what you meant to ask for was a pre-made mod forum in the products section. That’s something else entirely.
I’m open to discussion of the idea, so long as there is decent demand for it.

Just pitching in here real quick with regards to the latter idea - from my experience, mods and mod creation are a very open-source or freeware-ish community unless they are commissioned mods. Commissioned mods are usually things like hacked clients, cheats, or modifications to the game which no one else has thought of or aren't readily available.
Either way, if there are already respective offering and requesting tags then I don't think there'd be much of a reason to have a new forum for mods. For example, the resource section of the forum can handle that, and you also have places like the Hypixel forums which have a lot of different QoL client based mods.
There are whole forums and websites dedicated to the creation of open mods and distribution of them - like Curseforge - and unless MCM wants to compete with them (which, on the whole, probably wouldn't succeed) - there's probably no point in adding a new section for mods alone.
