The virus total result shows only 2 out of 60 antivirus software detected it as a virus. Both of which aren’t mainsteam ones, like Norton, AVG, Mcafee, etc, they all didn’t detect it. There is a good chance it could be a false positive, and not really be a virus.

As for obfuscation. Its commonly done by legitimate developers to help prevent people decompiling and stealing their code.

That's true and is most likely the case in this situation but my point about being careful of what you download still stands.
