Hello, as you know this website is mainly used to develop and create servers, I'm wondering, what ways did you use in the past/present to gain players.

YouTuber always worked.
I never did too much of slots.

Just getting one or two that had at least 100k+ avg views each was plenty enough for a decently sized network.

Slots:
minecraftservers.org - Good for a spike in players, not many players stay.
minecraft-server-list.com - Not many players join, most stay.

Ads on youtube promoting your server is 70% of time not going to benefit you in any way because most mc youtubers are over-saturated, especially the smaller ones. Big youtubers can have an impact if they don't hop on multiple servers and you buy like 10 episodes from them.

Experience - 2 years of management with plenty of trial and error. I don't plan to manage servers nor ever own one since I see them as a loss of profit these days so I don't mind sharing my knowledge.

Depends gamemode, everything is relative

I belive that Factions is the best for trailer uploads

Trailers helped me some what but players want to see something new and not repetitive meaning something that they cant say lets just go to this other server because its more popular and has the same thing they got but more playerbase

Depends. Pricing for giants like Preston atm are 5 figures.
Most 100k+ avg view YouTubers require 3-5 minimum and charge low-mid 4 figures.

Most larger YouTubers don't like to hop around servers and want to stick with their series.
Because of this, most usually do either a % with server owners they've worked with before or a combination of rate + percentage.
