I don't totally understand this concept, is it free money because the value of btc is going to go up? Could you explain a bit?

A new fork of bitcoin is releasing, anyone who holds bitcoin is participating exchanges and wallets will receive some coins of the new fork for free, in order to get it in to the market. The value of this new fork is not concrete or really known yet, only estimates.

Invest in BTC, but you'll see slow growth over a few years. The recent BTC rise took a long ass time, and now everyone is investing after they say the rise, so it'll probably slow in a few years.
