Hey guys, I wanna know the favorite community forum software and why. -- I understand many will choose XenForo but I still wanna see if others use IPB/MyBB.

I personally bought Invision Power board for the admin/built in features but I lean more towards Xenforo anyways.

Is there are reason you specifically picked xenforo? (Or because everyone has it), over others.

If you are willing to dish out $140, xenforo is definitely the best. It is very easy to use and customize, also has great features for moderation and a gigantic library of add-ons and themes. I would stay away from Invision Power as its had quite a number of vulnerabilities in it. If you are looking for free, I'd highly recommend Vanilla Forums or Flarum.

Does either of these allow you to set registration up in a way that a user MUST have an active premium Minecraft account? If not does anyone know of any software that can do that or at software that have a plugin to easily install/setup this feature?

I'm honestly not sure. I'm aware of xenforo addons that allow you to link Minecraft accounts to your forum accounts, but I'm not aware of any that explicitly require you to use a Minecraft account to sign up. You could definitely get it made for any of the forum software I have recommended, however. Another one I forgot to mention is NamelessMC, but I'm not sure if that allows you to require Minecraft accounts to register.

I meant in the free domain and one that explicitly says that you can do it without "digging around" the software.

I think XenForo, it was very easy to learn how to use. (In my opinion atleast) Plus, the ACP isn't confusing one bit.
