Hello, I’m looking at finally adding a graphics card to my old gaming rig.

I built this rig awhile ago for playing low resource intensive games like Minecraft, never put any dedicated GPU in it just used the intel family graphics with my processor.

SPECS:
- MSI Z97 Gaming 5
- 16GB Ram
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz 3.20 GHz
- 2x 1TB HDD

I’m just giving what I know off the top of my head. If you need any more information abt it lmk.

I’m not wanting to spend a ton. Maybe like $500 MAX but I would really prefer to spend less that that.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Budget wise: GTX 1660 super
Performance wise (and RTX possibilities): RTX 2060 super. Depending on where you live a RTX 2070 super might be within that price range.
If going for the 2060 or 2070 I'd upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 5 3rd gen (or 4th gen which is coming out soon) in the near future.

If you want to get a good GPU, you NEED a new CPU.
Even if you got yourself a GTX1650, there would still be bottleneck (https://pc-builds.com/calculator/). (The GTX1650 is a budget GPU).

If you have a budget of $500, I'd recommend splitting the amount on both a CPU and a GPU.
Here's my recommendation;
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (~ $175 - $200)
- GPU: AMD Radeon 5500XT (~ $200)[DOUBLEPOST=1587290384][/DOUBLEPOST]Here's a Benchmark for what I recommended above ^

You would need a new motherboard and ram (ram is ddr3)[DOUBLEPOST=1587291021][/DOUBLEPOST]Will this be your main rig for gaming/work?

Go for a 1650 SUPER or a 1660 ti. Great options.[DOUBLEPOST=1587291491][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also, if he were to go to a ryzen processor, he would need a new motherboard as he's on an Intel chipset.

I feel like 2070 would be good (as I have it, its a beast) but i feel like it may get some bottleneck. idk tho best to research everything.

Ok well, based on my current specs what do you recommend? I'm fine with lower graphic settings, I just want to be able to run games like COD:MW and DayZ and GTAV at 60+ fps

I'm not really sure, maybe a GTX 1060 3gb (used)? Could be some really good value.
