We're based in Manassas Virgina, it's currently only me and one of my best friends but we're looking to expand to 5-10 other close friends then expand further to actual employees. We do mowing, trimming, raking, powerwashing, and other basic works and also some simple construction like walkways, ponds, and a little gardening.
We work yearround on the weekends, mowing and stuff during Spring-Fall and shoveling driveways, putting up Christmas lights (you'd be surprised how many people will pay for others to put lights up for them), and other things during the Winter.

If you need more information, I'd be happy to give it as long as it's not stuff that's not already out there (such as personal details)

I can give you some insight. I started cutting lawns when I was 10 years old. I built and sold my first company, and bought my second one at 16 for 1.2 million. It included 40 employees, 17 crews and 17 trucks, with government, HOA, commercial, an residential accounts. I do something called Christmas Decor. http://www.christmasdecor.net/ It costs $7 to get into a contact with them. It's well worth it in the end. I make $2.3 grand in a single day with a crew of 4 guys. Look into getting your customers to do contacts, and have a base price for cutting lawns. A good example is not dropping the trailer gate for an X amount of money. You need to factor in costs, such as fuel, labor, etc. Wasted labor is something you don't want in this business. A good price to go off of doing fall clean ups is doing it by the job (start off doing it by the hour so you can determine about how long 5,000 sq ft takes, etc. Then do it by the job. Also, try to not hire too many friends, as i've done it in the past, and it only leads to them quitting because it's too labor intensive, or they don't call / don't show. Hire some guys from your local school or kids looking to a job, etc. Look into getting some decent equipment, you can make tons of money by using commercial stand on mowers (hydro stand on). I equip all my crews with Accelerator catchers http://www.acceleratorindustries.com/.

Try and do things in a timely manner to maximize profits. As for a name for your company, try something with the name that ends with "Cut" Some examples, such as Fine Cut, or you can do the owners first, middle, and last name initials. For example is my name was Evan Joe Rodger it would be EJR Landscaping.
