Hello!

As you know, Christmas is coming up and I was looking for a laptop under $800. I'd mostly do photoshop and playing games such as CS:GO. What's the best laptop I could get for around that price? I also don't want the computer to have quite quiet fans.

Kind regards,

For your specific needs. I would highly suggest something that has a decent GPU along with four threads.

While this is under your budget and you could get something better for double the money. This laptop would be able to do everything you have listed without stressing. This computer has an amazing APU to handle both your gaming and general needs easily while using a lot less power than one that would have a dedicated GPU.

Not worth the $$$
How is it not? It includes a dedicated GPU. From the looks of it, neither of yours do![DOUBLEPOST=1480533122][/DOUBLEPOST]However, if you do not mind spending more, this laptop has a lot more power in nearly every aspect.

Just to keep in note: Title claims under $700 and thread claims under $800

Personally I'd recommend you to build or purchase a tower since from past experience they are great for the right price. Withstanding editing on photoshop and running a less graphical dependant game like CSGO shouldn't be a problem with a budget of $700-$800

Just take your time with accurate research on different brands and parts regarding laptops. A useful tip is to search up that model on YouTube and see if anyone uploaded gaming tests or performance tests for that specific laptop model. It's a very accurate way to see pretty close to real-world performance of the hardware.

Model: HP 15.6" Intel Core i7 Dual Core Notebook (higher budget)- This might be something your interested in?

Model: Dell Inspiron-15.6 i5 (lower budget) - I would invest more money into a different model probably for i7

Again, personally I would consider a tower for computers in general but if you need the accessibility of moving around a laptop to school, work, and home then laptop is obviously better. Towers will always be more cost-efficient since laptops are always more expensive. (gaming laptops in particular)

Not worth the $$$
I had edited it to $800 after and wouldn't let me change title. I'll look into those laptops.

Spending $650 on a laptop and only getting 50 - 80 fps is pretty bad.

MacBooks are great, haven't used them for CS:GO so I wouldn't know about the gameplay for that, but it's the best for photoshop and other school work. I'd recommend the MacBook Air 13". If you can afford it, that is. Unless you want a hardcore gaming laptop then get a Dell. Imo it worked great for me, the latitude series. I got 400 fps on MC and 200 on CS:GO. Pretty good for a Dell.[DOUBLEPOST=1480576842][/DOUBLEPOST]^^ I didn't mean that Dell was the "hardcore gaming laptop" just using it as an example for a mid tier laptop.
Hmm, I used to have a macbook around 4 years ago. It's very limited for games and some programs are unavailable on it. It's good for productivity but I want to play other games aswell, it's also way over my budget. As for the Dell, I'll take a look.

OT: If you are getting the gift from one person, I really recommend buying a pre-built gaming desktop or, better yet, building your own desktop if you have enough to do that as well as get the peripherals for it. You can build a PC that will run the lower tier games like CSGO and programs like Photoshop/C4D very well.

However, if you want a laptop I'd go with an MSI or ACER one. Whatever you can get for your budget will do, all of their gaming laptops perform pretty well.
I have already have built my own desktop computer but I wanted a laptop for school and when I'm away from my computer.
