Best place to manage domains

Hey, I am getting a domain for the first time and don't know where to get it from. Any ideas will help.

My favorite registrar is https://namecheap.com/. https://porkbun.com/ is quite good too, I've heard. Not tried them myself, though.

Porkbun feels a bit budget and slow to me, at least based on the domains I've registered there.

Fuck namecheap... if you dont give them credit card info over the phone for "verification" they lock your account then ask for images of government papers like passports and drivers licenses.

I've never had this happen to me and I've been using Namecheap for years now. You obviously messed something up.

Namecheap is the best for just general domain owning. They also do have competitive pricing for there 400 sum tld's so I would listen to the above and go with Namecheap. I've never had an issue with them and when I do it's usually fixed in a 2 minute live chat.

Would you give your credit card info over the phone to a No Caller ID? They might be alright just dont pay with a card

Why would you ever even consider giving your card information out to any non-verified party? Especially over the phone, it takes about 20 minutes to learn the basics in social engineering and you can get information out of anyone.

Thats why they locked my account and then started asking for passport images and drivers license photos...

NameSilo has some cheap deals id recommend using domcomp to find a cheap deal (make sure to check reviews before using domcomp for a cheap tld) tld-list is also another good one to find the tld for a cheap price.

Yeah, switched back to GoDaddy. They took a week to even look at my damm ticket, only did once I complained on social media.
