Heyhey,

I'm kinda looking to get a new headset before the sales end.
Any recommendations?

I prefer to stay under $100, but if there are some good deals out there I might be interested as well.

Amazon or any other EUW shipper

Ty ;)

Not sure if they still are on top, but the Audio Technica ATH-M50x have a good reputation for value. Definitely worth a look.

I had HyperX cloud 2's and the mic was pretty quiet on them (but could've just been an issue on my end), the sound quality was good though imo.

I have a hyperx cloud 2 headset and I have to say the bass really isn't there though the mids and highs are okay. and the mic is terrible. It's understandable but not great. For being under $100 and for gaming, they'll get the job done. Unfortunately I'm not super into headsets and peripherals so I can't recommend anything else. Maybe check randomfrankp's video on headsets. The logitech ones (slightly above your limit at $110 or so without blue voice) and fanatic ones stood out to me. I was mostly leaning towards getting a new microphone because again, the cloud 2s apparently make you sound monotone. I picked up the quadcast from hyperx as well in the end as they sounded the most natural though it sucks at filtering out background noise. Hope this rant helped.

My brother has the same headset as well and had this issue. I don't think mine had the issue so it may just vary pair by pair. Amazon has a replacement mic which may or may not resolve that. It's like $13. He installed some software to boost his output. Make sure it's boosted in window's settings as well.

The only reason I'll use a headset is for the mic, so I might have to get another one, but thanks for telling me you've been having issues with the mic!

Thanks for the in-depth explanation!
I think I won't go for the HyperX Cloud2 as it seems multiple people are having this issue, will check out that video! Thanks a lot :)

Do you have a closed/open-back preference? Do you prefer a v-shaped sound signature or are you more into a "clear" sound?

I'm honestly a big noob when it comes to headphones and I have little to no idea what you're talking about xd
I'll mostly use my headset for meetings and normal VCs as I prefer using my speakers for music, but if it's way better than my speakers I'll use the headset instead. Right now I have a Logitech G430, but the right side doesn't work anymore.

What speakers have you got? I can't gaurentee the sennheiser HD 599 is better than your speakers, but they are probably the best open-back headphones in that price range. Here are some basics on sound signatures: https://www.headphonezone.in/blogs/audiophile-guide/sound-signatures-explained

EDIT: Wait.. are you looking for headphones or a headset?

I use MPOW H7's, they're pretty cheap IIRC (like $40) and the sound quality is amazing on them. Microphone is really good too from what I can tell through Discord. Only complaint is that above the ear cuffs are weak points, and after 1-2 years of usage they've broken on both sides. Really easy to super glue back together though, and once it's glued together it's pretty sturdy

Update: After 1/2 months both sides of my Logitech headset are randomly working again so I'll check this out again whenever I really need one :p Thanks, everyone, for helping! <3
