Best Way to build up a discord for a factions server?

I don't mess with these types of servers due to an insane amount of toxicity and poor-planning, but in the past I've seen a lot of servers create overpriced ranks valued at $300-$600 and start a giveaway on the Discord. Once they reach (insert goal here) members they'll give that rank away.
