Hey there I have been searching Mc Market for the past couple of hours at the resources available for starting as a newbie on java.

I have seen people recommending the spigotcourse and then people recommending the udemy course by Stephen both look great but I must say the spigotcourse was getting absolutely slated on its thread and tbh it does look like one of those scams to get rich quick or to join someone’s referral so they make money off you and the course is slightly overpriced but if it is worth it I would consider buying it but I like the look of Stephens course but then people were saying he doesn’t go into depth about java enough which i want to learn alot about aswell as I think I would like to pursue something like coding as my job in the later future since I’m so interested in this kind of stuff anyway I know people have asked similar questions but I want to know genuinely what people think is the better option or if I should try some other service out of mcmarket

Thanks

just start, eventually you will get to the point where you can understand the java docs available and create cool shit.

start with a youtube series like the source code's, it's easier once you have got past the first hurdle.

I have tried YouTube a few times but the stuff is either seriously outdated or when I start then watch another video they are on a completely different part and doing something I don’t get and this is why I am wishing to take part in a course so I work through everything properly is there any good courses you could recommend I don’t mind paying some money if it’s worth it as I want a good experience getting into the development scene

no clue, I've never used a course since I don't see the point in paying for something that you can get from something completely free.

This playlist isn't even nearly a year old. They also have a discord that can help you 24/7 with whatever issue you having.

I am currently a student on stxphen 's (Stephens) course and it is pretty good but as stated in the course it doesn't really go into depth about coding especially the common errors that students may have but they are just left in the dark if they don't join the discord

I considered that but now I’m more interested in the spigot course I’m sure I could make that money back easily plus it’s extra knowledge :)

Hey mate,

I was tagged here so I hope you'll allow me to respond to your OP. I wholeheartedly believe that my course will provide you with great Java knowledge; there are 5 Java Basics lectures which each cover different elements of Java, chronologically from simple-advanced before I even touch the Spigot content. Then, throughout the dozens of Spigot videos more elements of Java are introduced and it is easier to learn as it is applied to something useful or fun!

Anyhow; if you aren't interested in the course, my advice is to just start somewhere! Starting somewhere is better than nothing. I believe that the more you look around for perfect solutions the more time you're wasting - because there isn't one. You will barely understand anything, and it takes a LOT of trial and error, but starting anywhere is the best move you can make at this point.

Good luck in whatever you choose buddy.
