Mick, get a better system admin. There has already been over 6 "maintenance"'s over the past 2 hours. Sort your shit out, with your so called 'system admin'. I recommend you sort this out, before you start losing some of the player/view base on this site.

Its getting ridicules, its happening way too often multiple times a week. When BeBosny was system admin this almost never happened.

He might be a mature nice person. But ultimately he doesn't know what he's doing and that's what matters. Mick himself said he doesn't specialise in forums. The 2 days downtime to move it, along with all the other things like getting rid of cloudflare the 100's of bugs after the move and the constant downtime since the move confirms that.

He is a really mature person who only wants the best for this community and is trying to go about that. I've had some conversations with him and he truly has the community's best interests in mind.

Your negative attitude really doesn't help things, although I'm not sure whether that stems from actual jealousy from the fact that he doesn't have thousands of posts / reactions or just the desire to hate on the Staff team since the new changes were brought about.

You don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so you can't make statements like this.
For all you know, there could be an issue going on that any Sys Admin would be struggling with.

All that really needs to be said is that you don't know the full story of what's going on, so stop drawing conclusions and telling Mick to get a better "system admin" when your only real reason to get one is to "stop the downtime" which, for all you know, could be the case with any Sys Admin.
Of course, jealous users are going to disagree with me, but this System Admin is one of the most high quality members I have met in a long, long time on this site.
Give him a chance for what? He already had his chance and wasted it in the downtime he caused for 2 full days, 48 hours. Did this really ever happen with BeBosny? No. Therefore, it is clear to say that the system admin knows shit. Would you really wanna be an active member of this forum, if every 2 days there was a so called 'maintenance' for an hour? I certainly wouldn't.

Im sorry, but I don't really care about how good of a person he is, or what he's doing.
The most effective way to look at this suggestion is to see it as a suggestion to "Get shit working".
whatever is going on, there have been more downtimes in the month since he left than in the entirety of bebosny's tenure.
That says something. I don't care what's going on or what it is, but with the amount they've been communicating the servers could be literally on fire and we wouldn't know.

if they want us to stop blaming the system admin, they'd better start explaining at least a LITTLE of what's been going on with the repeated downtimes.
If not, we'll just keep assuming it's due to an incompetent system admin, since that is the main change that correlates with the overload of downtime.

However, the way things have been going here are pretty bad. These downtimes have been extremely frequent the last few weeks. Not even PMC has had this many downs in one month. Yet we haven't heard a word about it, nor even a hint that anything is wrong.
That sort of lack of communication is something I expect of big multinationals stiffened by bureaucracy, not a site run by people you can actually talk to personally.

People just look for someone to blame, and they blame this Sys Admin. Because we have not been told what the actual cause of the problem is, instead of finding one person to blame, people should actually wait until a cause has been determined and released to the public. I'm fine with people calling him a "shit system admin" if it is concluded that the downtime was 100% his fault, but at this stage am I correct in saying nobody knows what's going on? If so I believe it's not fair to attack the System Admin just yet.

There's two ways to go about this.
You can either wait until a cause is determined and then attack whoever.
Or attack the System Admin because it's supposedly his job (Even though in my opinion anything could be happening and it might actually be something out of his control)

You have an actual point, but I've been observing the previous two users that replied to me and they've been straight up attempting to harrass the Sys Admin on his Profile for quite a while.

Once again, I understand that everyone who placed "Professional System Admin!!!!!" as their usertitle / most recent profile post.
The cause has been released publicly, it was simply the fact that we had to switch hosts. So essentially, it took him 48 hours just for him to switch hosts? To switch databases etc? If he is a so called 'Professional' this shouldn't happen according to Mick as 'he knows what he's doing'.

BeBosny:

Kept us updated with every change.
Very rare to see any downtime.

D3l3t3d:

Tells us nothing.
Forum is down several times a week.

If BeBosny was able to improve the forum and fix bugs without downtime, then why cant he do the same? Or at least keep us updated on what is going on.

Completely agree aswell, the public should be informed of what has been causing the downtime.

Transparency is something that's needed, I agree with that.

I believe it's frustration like this that leads to people attacking Staff members.

This is a suggestion about getting a "better system admin". Surely it could be a suggestion requesting some form of transparency with the current issues instead? Just anything more positive that makes less assumptions.

I see this site as a community and feel like people all blaming one member without knowing the full story is pretty meaningless.

Have i even stated anywhere in this thread that i am a 'System Admin'? If you really state that you are a 'Professional' on something or that you are 'pretty good' in solving an issue it means that you can do your job well, and you know what you are doing. Yes, sometimes things can happen and you don't know what you are doing, but Ajdin has kindly offered assistance to Mick on skype and Mick states that they are doing fine. If there really is a problem that a so called 'professional' can't fix and, another user that specialises in the same aspect offers assistance why reject it?

If you have an issue with not being updated about the downtime, maybe ask him about that rather than calling him a useless system administrator?
People have been asking to be kept updated for the past month, and its not happened.

Half the people that dislike this system admin don't even care about him and just complain because he isn't BeBosny. Bosny was a great system administrator, but we have a new one now.
We complain because he seems far inferior to BeBosny. The downtime has become a daily occurrence and he seems to keep messing up, where BeBosny didn't. He took 2 days to do the same job that took BeBosny 2 hours.


I understand you have talked to him, so you two know each other, so you're going to stick up for him obviously. I don't expect you to consider everyone else's opinion. But hopefully Mick might when reading all these.
