"Beware" or "Shady" Rating!

As everyone knows, Mc-Market has a ton of shady people.
I just recently got the idea that Mick should add a "Beware" or "Shady" rating to the rating system. Many users get scammed on MCM due to lack of knowledge about known scammers, but this will help solve that issue.

Since this rating has a negative connotation, it will not count towards a person's ratings count.

This is an awesome way to help clean up Mc-Market!

This could be a great idea, although I could see this being abused by members within our community. Simply giving these ratings to anyone without providing any proof to their claim could lead to people struggling to make sales.

You've clearly not put much thought / effort into this idea MetalMonkey users can simply abuse "this" rating to try and screw over people they don't like and cause them to miss out on business opportunity's....

Well just like abusing any other rating, people will not be aloud to abuse this one.

People can abuse any other rating, what is the big deal about this one?

Yes, but most of the time it just leads to a bunch of bickering, hopefully this can resolve that issue [DOUBLEPOST=1451448540,1451448507][/DOUBLEPOST]Perhaps users can type in their proclaimed reason of shadiness when they enter the rating.

The reasons would be viewable by other users?

Ratings are for users' posts.
Not to be used for determining a member's reputation as a buyer/seller.

Blurring those lines by offering a rating that anyone could click, regardless of whether or not they've dealt with the user isn't a viable option.

Also, yes all the other ratings get abused and boosted throughout the forum but none of them have the capability to harm ones reputation. This one could.

The reason why abusing this rating is so much worse than the other ratings is because it actually has a direct impact on how others will treat the user and as well as how their business will go. If I were to give a funny rating to someone for no reason, the "rating abuse" wouldn't have any major impact whatsoever except for them getting another funny rating. However, in the case of the beware/shady rating, abusing this will result in people's business's losing customers, and other users not wanting to deal with them for no actual reason. There's not really a point for this rating because if user's are shady, staff will most likely check into what's going on and if they actually are doing stuff that is shady, they'll most likely get banned.

If this is the best you can come up with, try changing your way of thinking of suggestions. I mean, I don't expect much but wow...

Not only is this dumb from its fundamentals, you actually want it to become a post rating.

What makes me valuable, however, is that I adapt ideas and offer solutions with more logic attached to them, not just say something is crap and leave it at that. I spend more time and effort into my posts than you probably have in your 1,545 posts combined.

I offer honest, logical opinions. And by the looks of replies on this thread, it looks like some people share a similar opinion and have some form of logic, at a bare minimum.

Don't turn this on me, btw, reply to my comment and challenge that. This is my exact problem with this idea. This is about posts, not about me. Worry about what I said here and not about what I say outside of this suggestion, and respond to that. I'm waiting...

I would offer solution here, however, I can only offer solution on ideas that can be adapted and improved. This is just completely idiotic and nonsensical, so I can't really give you a redraft or any insight into it, because I would disagree with its implementation in any shape or form. As I stated in my initial reply, the basic fundamentals of this idea are flawed, it simply cannot be adapted to not be flawed.

I do not bother to check who gives me ratings, but it would seem like around 6 different users have rated my posts. It's not my fault if some user likes or dislikes my posts. Most of them are simply overlooked. I don't really care about ratings. My intention here is not to become some celebrity. I create content that fits a certain level of quality and post it to offer insight.

I'm not here to bicker with you like a kid and repeat myself over a bunch of points. I stated my opinion, suck it up. Look buddy, tell me where the logic is in this idea, and why POST ratings is the place to implement it. Just... go outside and take some fresh air, then come back inside and join a forum which is adult based (your interpretation of that means a lot, btw, I mean a forum which isn't dominated by kids) and perhaps logic shall enter the brain. Then come to MCM and reply to my thread and tell me what's illogical and logical about this idea. I think you'll probably end up posting 5-10 threads with smart ideas after that.

Anyway, go ahead and post a good suggestion and you'll get a like rating from me as well as a "this is a logical post, pretty good idea, implement this" post from me.
