Today I'm here to announce the results of our Beyond Blue fundraiser, staff applications and a few other more minor changes.
Beyond Blue Fundraiser Results
Last month we released our 2020 fundraiser for Beyond Blue, and I'm very proud to say that we have raised more money for this fundraiser than any other in our history, with $17,301.27 USD raised! I say this every time, but I am truly amazed at how much our relatively small community of entrepreneurs is able to band together to help a great cause. This fundraiser has broken every record set previously with more name colour and medal purchases, direct donations, and offerings in our fundraiser forum. For the second time, we released a forum allowing users to create their own offerings of products and services with the proceeds going towards our Beyond Blue fundraiser. From this forum, we have raised a total of $5,652.58 USD! While there were plenty of expected services offering to sell avatars, signatures, and even username changes, there were many unique ideas sold by our enterprising community. Ellie raised $1,035 USD for our fundraiser by offering to create a recreation of The Last Supper with MC-Market characters as Jesus and his 12 disciples. Certainly a very creative and successful way to raise money and we're excited to see the finished product in a few days!
As promised, I have also matched all $25 name colour purchases that have been made and am covering all transaction fees. With 137 purchases, this means that my contribution to this fundraiser has been $3,425 plus fees.
PebbleHost.com and Dann have been long-time supporters and friends of our community. This year, they have contributed $4,634.50 to our fundraiser through user donations such as buying avatars, winning our 9-month rainbow username auction, and buying the medal and name colours. Thank you so much for your absolutely astounding support, Dann.
Our donation has now been sent out and the total listed on this thread has been finalised.
Beyond Blue has provided us with a certificate of the $25,000 AUD donated on behalf of MC-Market:
Staff Applications and ChangesWe have experienced significant growth over the past months and with that, we are looking to expand our staff team. This time, the criteria to apply for staff has been modified to allow a wider range of users to apply. The criteria, however, will remain undisclosed.
If you meet the criteria and are interested in applying, there is a tab in the navigation bar that will direct you to the application. If you are not interested, the tab has a decline option as a dropdown that you can use to remove the tab. Applications will be open for 2 weeks and then they will be reviewed by our team.
Unfortunately, MCCharity has resigned from moderator along with Annie S. and ThaMango resigning from their position as chat moderators.
Scheduled downtime
Also relating to our significant growth in recent months, we have outgrown our current infrastructure and storage for our needs. To remedy this, we will be having a brief downtime of approximately one hour commencing at 8 PM EST on the 6th of July. As per usual, we will post updates on our Twitter if an incident arises but we expect it to all run smoothly. After we are once again live our search indexing will be back to functioning as normal and advertisers will be compensated for the lost time.

Ads Manager Changes
Although we are not altering the prices of any sticky threads this month, we are significantly lowering the cost of featured resources in the following categories:
- Plugins from $15/week to $10/week
- Worlds from $12/week to $5/week
- Graphics from $12/week to $5/week
- Schematics from $15/week to $5/week
- Configurations from $15/week to $10/week
- Skripts from $10/week to $5/week
- Websites from $10/week to $5/week
- Bots & Programs from $10/week to $5/week
The price of featured resources in the Setups category will remain the same.
Other Changes
Along with these changes above, we have:
- Added confirmation pop-up when you disable your account
- Added better moderation tools for staff to adjust business accounts resulting in faster response times
- Added ability for users to update the titles of threads in the discussion category
- Removed support requests forum
- Removed rule 1.6.2, Do not continue to send a member content, or content regarding them after being asked by them to stop.
