I am no lawyer, but I feel like a patent inside Minecraft wouldn't... work? I don't know, all I know is that...
From the Mojang EULA:

I know that Hypixel for example has a ton of Copyright stuff, but I am not too sure they have any actual patents.

Please don't quote me or anything im not a lawyer, just pretty sure there's a lot of gray area around stuff like this.
