If you're even slightly active on this forum, you'll notice the spam threads that get posted nearly daily, and I have a suggestion to stop this. Frequently I have noticed they post links in the title, so to stop a (small) amount of the spam, I recommend banning the ability to post links in titles.

Spam threads can be a persistent problem on online forums, and I understand your concern. While banning the ability to post links in titles may help reduce some of the spam, it may not completely eliminate the problem.

There are several ways spammers can still post their links, such as including them in the body of their message or using URL shorteners. Additionally, this restriction may also inconvenience legitimate users who may need to include links in their thread titles for valid reasons.

To combat spam more effectively, a combination of preventive measures and reactive moderation may be necessary. Some preventive measures include implementing CAPTCHAs or requiring new users to complete a verification process before they can post. Reactive moderation, such as using human moderators or automated spam filters, can help remove spam posts quickly and efficiently.

Ultimately, a multi-faceted approach that combines different measures may be the most effective way to address the problem of spam threads.

OT: I believe blocking the ugly parts of the URL at least, "https://www." it wouldn't make the spam go away but would make it a little cleaner until it's moderated by staff.
