After looking at quite a few threads like for example http://www.mc-market.org/threads/116815/. There is a bit of a trend to go around asking developers to make some huge cores or something crazy like a premium plugin for a rank in game and on the forums. THIS IS CRAZY.I ask that we should have this blocked as its 100% unreasonable. Its a waste of a thread and if you look through the comments most people think its a fucking joke... DEVELOPERS DONT want a tag they want money this is MCMARKET... + lets be honest threads like this are a insult to all developers

I'm not a developer, but I found Axyy's ignorant post to be very frustrating and annoying to read. And completely degrading to the developers of this forum. The way that he emphasized the fact that "You are not getting paid" and wrote like he was talking to a two year old.

That being said I can tell why Plyflex is upset. But the fact of the matter is, giving a tag could be seen as a form of payment to a developer that found it fitting for the job (No developer in their right mind).
If you don't like it, leave it alone then. I'm jist asking if someone wants to apply for Developer on my server, and then fuckboys as you are going to annoying me.. Why? If you don't like it, stop reacting then.

Let's not trash the thread guys, if you want to discuss it further, take it to PM. ANYWAYS, I think people are just blind and think that someone is just gonna do it for free. I always laugh at it. I don't think it's a big deal. Of course, if it gets more spammy with people asking for a free plugin(s) which is massive then something should be put inplace. But for now, I don't see that happening and it's unnecessary.

This has been resolved. No hate towards mank . This was particularly my fault as I did disagree with some of his threads. Now back on topic :p

We cannot block people from posting things asking for free stuff. It's not practical.
However, if they are extremely disrespectful about it, they can be punished accordingly, and the post can be moderated. That's what the report button is for.
Trust me, this sort of stuff happens in more than just the dev section. The best thing to do is to tell them (somewhat politely) to move over to PMC, which is where the free stuff is at. They'll get lower quality than if they somehow manage to get someone here, but they'll be way more likely to actually get applicants, and among those might be a half-skilled person.

I understand your feelings. I've had people asking me for high-detail complex 10K terrain maps, with a budget of $10 or so. A 10K at the best of my ability tends to take around a month to complete.
That sort of shit is a normal part of being a freelancer, however.
I know several true pros (those that make a full living doing their thing) that get pestered by this sort of shit on a daily basis.

I will have to respectfully disagree. I'm sorry...

Any reason?
You think it's easy to block people from asking for free stuff in threads? or do you want it to be forbidden by rule?
Honestly more then anything it seems a bit disrespectful if you ask a developer to make this huge thing for you and ask it for free or for like 2$. and the posts get shit on so hard. Its just a waste. Look at the example I gave . Like 8 people thought it was a joke and not one person was willing to do it...

Did you even read most of my post?
I'm not saying it's completely fine. I'm saying that there's not much we can do about it without this website becoming a ridiculously strict place.
Even if we forbid people from making threads asking for free stuff, they'll still use PM's or contact people directly using skype etc.
It's GOING TO HAPPEN no matter what we do.
It's an integral part of being a freelancer. Even the most proffesional freelancers get pelted with requests like this, and always will be. Even if they threaten to murder those that contact them with a free job.
