So,

I'm a skinny guy, high metabolism, weight about 150 pounds or so. I look like a twig, not going to lie.
I'm going to be buying at-home weight training today like an ez bar, some weights and what not, spending about 130$ or so later tonight.

I want to get in shape. I want to be fit, and muscular. I'm looking for some of your guys help who may know more with weight training, and getting fit.
I need help with meals. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Is it better than a gym though?

I'm putting a 'small' gym in my basement where theres lots of open space. I don't want to hit a public gym yet as i'm not comfortable with my body type.

You are putting a lot of money on this, I think you don’t need to be ashamed and consider going to a gym and there do a full week routine with legs, chest etc.

rear deltoids, triceps, and traps are the main groups you should focus for building bigger arms I would recommend going to a gym instead of making one at home as its much easier to progress, Zac Perna is a great youtuber to start watching to help with understanding what exercises to do and what to not do, get the myfitnesspal app to help with meals, gl bro

A ton of people start in gyms with no experience, you go there to train the ones who have been there for a long time would obviously look a lot more fit than you. They were probably in the same position as you. IMO it's such a waste to use $130 when you can go to the gym a lot cheaper. You do you though.

If you cannot afford a gym membership body weight exercises are a great and effective way to gain muscle. Do some tibatas and AMRAP's of pushups, crunches, pretend your biking, situps, or curls work very well[/QUOTE] DrWap
I’m willing to go, money isn’t the problem but the problem is that there so no nearby gym near my living area :/

I'm an amateur bodybuilder recovering from brain surgery so I haven't hit the gym recently but here are some tips, I can give you.
1. Always have an after workout protein food or beverage, typically it is the protein that helps build muscle after it is destroyed at the gym and without the protein your body rebuilds the muscle very slowly.
2. Focus on your arms if you are trying to get more cosmetic changes. I don't really train my legs at all because of 1. im lazy, and 2. No one really sees your legs besides your calves which are very minimally seen. Your arms, on the other hand, are very easy to show off the progress you have made at the gym same with your chest but I wouldn't train your chest too much until your shoulders and arms are stronger.
3. Some muscle groups I like to focus on for the arms are your triceps, aka the muscle behind the bicep, they are not well seen until they are bigger but my god do they make a world of difference. I like to focus on the shoulders because although not very much of a cosmetic change you will notice that you are getting much stronger with exercises to do with your arms on addition to training your arms. I would also focus on the bicep because it is the most visible muscle.
4. Do not care what others think... at all. Everyone you see at the gym probably started not nearly in the shape they were in and worked hard for their appearance. I really doubt and have never experienced some one personally judging someone else on their phyiscal appearance if anything I have seen people reach out to larger people and congratulate them on taking the step they needed to lose weight and same with skinnier people trying to gain mass/muscle
I wish you luck brotha and if you need anything you can always reach out to me here or on Discord for other advice wap#0001[DOUBLEPOST=1567107647][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wouldn't listen to this guy. Do not neglect legs under any circumstance. You will look foolish and more stupid with a built upper body and skinny legs compared to just being fully skinny. People will notice and laugh because it looks hilarious. Find a solid plan, eat more than you burn and go to a public gym and take advice from people around you there that have the same goals as you do. GL
