We goin back to the olden days boys, we boycotting this bih!Or, you know, make a suggestion or support request?
If there is something you think should be fixed that is something that is for the whole team, a suggestion is a right place to do it.
If it is something like you believe a staff member is abusing their power, state it in a support request.
If you want to make MCM better, go about it the right way, not making threads where the goal of it is just to spew hate.
A good example of a suggestion that was well-intentioned, in my opinion, was the suggestion thread(s) saying that reputation moderators should be added.
Examples of bad suggestions include "promote x" "demote x"
This is such a textbook story every time. Suggestion threads take years before being implemented. Report system is flawed because of the staff and there's 0 communication from your end of the spectrum. And what I like most is that staff keep pointing their fingers at the users: "You should make a suggestion thread!", "Report more rule-breaking! We will reward you with warning points!", "You, the people of MCM, need to behave better!".Or, you know, make a suggestion or support request?

Suggestion threads get implemented based on a few things, priority, ease to implement (such as how long will it take to develop), and desire from the community. If there is a suggestion that actually provides a good way to improve the staff team and we can implement with ease, there will be a push from the community and the team for that to be done. Support requests are for communication, reporting posts don’t need as much communication, people need to know if it was accepted or rejected and if rejected why. Previously, a complaint was that people didn’t get rejection reasons, that is something that within the team was talked about and measures were put in place so it is done. This is such a textbook story every time. Meanwhile, I have never ever seen an actual apology in regards to almost every flawed with this forum. Maybe start with a "I am deeply sorry for the fact that we had no communication with our community for every moment in the past years!"
Point the finger at yourself once, please. Or at least communicate to us that you're pointing the finger at yourself (and us).
So... You implemented a single chance? Which does not even take long to develop?Suggestion threads get implemented based on a few things, priority, ease to implement (such as how long will it take to develop), and desire from the community. It's really not hard. Once every week, a single post, we worked on this and are going to work on this. We listened what you said and the suggestions x and y are approved and should hopefully be implemented within a single year (lol).I completely agree that as a whole, the team can communicate to the community what happens more, but I would also like to add that it is something that has been worked on and is continued to work on. We try to answer what we can in chat and the twitter has been used more to relay important changes increasingly. I’m not saying that is enough, but I am saying that we aren’t oblivious to it.
Meanwhile this week someone did get warning points for it.People don’t get warning points for reporting others, they get it for abusing the system. There’s a difference there. We get many reports for posts and reputation and the majority of the time the reporter does not get warning points.
This is basically what I just told you and disputed. "If the community wants to help make MCM a better place...". Uh... The community is your consumer. Not your helper. They pay/support you to put out a good product, every premium and supreme user (and more) is already helping you. Currently MCM's relationship with it's community is too terrible and too insignificant for us to be willing to help 'more' as most feel like it's not going to help. To try and empty the ocean with a thimble. We don’t try to “Point fingers”
People are on the staff team because they want to help MCM and keep the community safe and positive. While everyone might not see eye to eye on how that is done, that is everyone’s goal. If people on the team didn’t care about MCM they’d find something better to do with their time. I say all this because of the point that we’re not trying to blame the community, but if the community wants to help make MCM a better place for everyone, that is how you would do it. Report posts that break the rules, make suggestions, and read the rules. Help us help you is essentially what it comes down to in my opinion.
Its just their way of brushing off the situation in hopes that it dies downThis is such a textbook story every time. Suggestion threads take years before being implemented. the hiring of staff is quite stupid if you ask me, look at the announcement threads where new staff were taken on and you'll see nobody knows who they are lol
i disagree, there were loads of complaints about s/r's (both scam reports and support requests) not getting doneWhat’s weird was that the community was more relaxed a year ago, when the site was in shambles, than now, when the site has most definitely improved from its previous state.
somewhat agree with this, but sometimes the rules really are stupid and overstretched to meet the needs of the staff's wantsMCM is not flawless, but most of these threads which are full of hate of the community are from those who broke the rules. When people hate the moderators, it’s usually due to them being warned and therefore feeling wronged.
i'd rather someone who was slightly toxic but trustworthy than someone who has no clue about the inner workings of mcm or the community norms. i can name and shame a few of the new staff for this but i wont. Most of the “well-known” people who think they should be staff are either overly arrogant or egocentric. I’m not saying all the “well-known” people are like that, but I personally see it as a general trend..
This. People need to learn to communicate their issues or they are never going to be resolved. I don't think it's hard to find trustworthy people, not that I trust anyone blindly on this site, but the challenge stems from finding people that are also willing to take the position, have time to spare, and are actively engaged with the site's development/issues/etc.They can't make a change if they do not know the problem... and it is pretty hard to find trustworthy members who can staff such a big site.
