Bring back the Hint method when selling accounts

Aparently Velt and Arcane are removing ranks/Banning accounts if they are sold on here with ranks on there server, so say I was selling Trip with a rank I would do
Username: Tr**
Hint: I will get your IP

Or
Username: Tr**
Hint: PM for ign

I remember this used to be a thing back in the day and I don't know why it was taken out.

Anyways just a suggestion lmk what you think

Well, not really. Because hints can be uncertain, and because (technically) they don't know the exact name, because it's not directly stated, they can't do anything about it.

If it's a hint they can't just guess because it's not directly stated therefore if they guess the wrong name then there in trouble

Yeah but that’s Mojang, these servers can ban Trip even if there are 2 uncertain letters.

If I’m honest. I think Mojang has better things to do, that hire people to look around Minecraft forums and block OG accounts being sold. They don’t lose any money from people selling them. They actually gain money in some cases, since people buy giftcodes to snipe the names with. I think if this was a problem and OG accounts were getting locked because of it, Doge would have had a word with Mick to sort this.

If you read the suggestion then you'd know this isn't about mojang.

I read somewhere that arcane and velt remove ranks based on IP changes rather than seeing the accounts for sale.

Well, none of us know how Mojang handles things.
On OG forums you'll see people starring out twitter and instagram names, because they can't lock accounts if the name isn't certain.
For example, if the handle was @g*mble in Glove's case (selling the instagram), they can't lock it because what if they lock @ gamble when the one being sold was actually @gumble?
So yes, it'd be a good idea to bring it back theoretically since there's not really much harm in doing it.

It would slow down already slow report response times.

Yeah it's being corrupt but do you really think they care? Networks like Velt make unholy amounts of money. Any account they ban with a couple hundred dollars with of ranks and perks can be made back in a day to be honest.
Besides, most of those networks have it in their TOS when you buy from them they reserve the right to ban you for any reason.

Hinting usernames doesn't actually help with anything, it just makes everything a tiny bit more cryptic to read. Mojang don't seem to be on account locking waves at the moment anyways.
