I'm debating bringing the project back (not April fools) but would want to move to a subscription model. Meaning monthly payments for continued access to support and binaries. I would be able to expand the project further, adding lots of nice features.

Reminder that this is the HCFactions plugin that a lot of bigger servers used. It contained almost everything you need to run an HCF server. And going forward, I could add anything that it didn't have.

Please let me know what you think here https://github.com/drtshock/HCFProblems/issues/412

If I have a leaked plugin on my server, I feel unprofessional that's why I always purchase. I think I have about 35 plugins on my spigot purchased resources.

HCF is dead for the most part. It's just a matter of time before owners realize paying $300 for server trailers on YouTube don't actually do anything. I wouldn't see too much activity with a subscription service.

There are ways to validate official and leaked copies, but for some reason I've yet to see it implemented. For example, if a developer wanted to charge for monthly access like this, he'd have to sell it somewhere other than spigot. You can make it a requirement to put in your Paypal account email in the config, and if it doesn't match a buyer, or it's being used on another server already, then you don't let it start up. This method would be much better executed through your own payment gateway for easier verification, but nonetheless I believe it could still be done. I guess it could always be decompiled and recompiled, but to me I'd rather just pay the fee then go through all that BS every week when a new update is pushed.

Back on topic here, I have actually known Drtshock for quite a long while. I have played and staffed on his servers, I had a few business deals with him in the past, and I have used most of his plugins at one point or another on my server. To keep it plain and simple, Drt is a talented Developer that makes high quality plugins. On the opposite side, you can't expect the world's greatest support from him. Maybe he just doesn't like me, but almost every time I ask him a question I never get more than a few words. Then to make it even worse, if I dare ask a follow up question because the answer wasn't detailed enough, I probably won't get a response until hours later, and sometimes not even at all.

Hardcore factions is a small market, so selling a plugin for $10 to 50 people won't be worth the time and effort it'll take to develop this. Some servers are making 4 or 5 digits a month then complaining about a few bucks being taken off that. I hate being nickle and dimed too, but if a plugin costs say $5-10 a month, and it's LITERALLY THE CORE of your server, it's a small price to pay. (Why the hell did I just write 3 paragraphs about a plugin I will never use...)
