Why not just do clazz == packet.getClass()?
He shouldn't even need to check for that in the first place.

He's obviously doing something wrong if it requires the checking of classes.

kbabe, no disrespect, but why are you checking if 2 classes equal each other?

And, to answer your question, my brain is retarded and doesn't lay trust in the == operator, so I find myself doing things such as what the two of you are commenting about.
