I partially think comparing Bitcoin to a stock is misleading as the value of a stock is backed by a company. The value of Bitcoin is not backed by any Government or company. If your friend wants to invest money into Bitcoin, might as well burn it. Funny thing to note, all the articles and people that claim Bitcoin will hit 20k+ are people that are heavily invested into it. High risk high reward, your choiceBitcoin is just like a stock, though arguably a bit more random. Buy when it's low, hold it for a while, then sell it either before it goes back down or when you're done with the 'stock'. The primary difference is that you can actively use bitcoin as a currency in select situations.
