Hello. Recently there's been a couple of posts by Neil, and for those of you who don't know, I'll provide some context. There's a post called "BTC Help", and basically what it has stated is that;
  • Yasuo has BTC in a bitcoin wallet, 0.83BTC to be precise.
  • He is only able to withdraw the BTC if he makes a payment of 0.01BTC.
  • Yasuo has asked for someone to help with this, and as a result will split the BTC in half should he withdraw.
The website that he has used for this cryptohelix.net. The legitimacy of the website is questionable, but for the sake of this post, it clearly is not. Offsite and a couple onsite, there have been recent instances where people have encountered the same thing--someone goes to said user, pays user (assumingly fake) BTC worth around $3000, and they can only do something with it if they pay money to the website, the 0.01BTC minimum. Yasuo went on a thread to ask for help to fund the 0.01BTC, in return to split the total funds 50/50. This as a whole is questionable and isn't the thing I'm defending/nor trying to explain, as well as this adds to the whole aspect of being a scam. But had he not said something like this, it could have appeared to someone not smart enough as true.

Multitude of instances, such as this one and this one show the same story along the same lines; someone is approached, asked to handle/is given some BTC and has to put money into the site to withdraw the BTC. A simple thing to note here is that the BTC cannot be withdrawn. So thus, it is a scam. These have all been fairly recent (within the last week) of cases that I've seen, so if you see any transactions going down on this site, you shouldn't deal with it.

Finally, it isn't Yasuo trying to scam either; or at least I think so. After going on alts to try and find out why (as I didn't think he'd offer to me on my main), we talked and I tried to stage a deal to buy the BTC. He told me that the email in the screenshot he used in the thread was not his, and that someone approached him to sell it.

Other screenshots here.
