Hello MC-Market community,
I've been in the Minecraft server owning community for a few months now. I've had trouble getting a good player base started. I have $2,000 for advertising, but I am not sure what to do with it. .org slots seem overrated and would prefer to stay away from them.

Thanks,
Yogert

The server is not fully custom. It is well made, but not custom. I'd prefer to stay away from .org.

If you have a custom unique gamemode, only really available on your server once the name is out there players will play there regardless since you are the only person to offer that "gamemode".

maybe youtubers but i'm not too sure, i've seen many networks fail with advertising VIA youtubers, example, a network called NirvanaMC hired PeteZahHutt he has 500k subs and brought about 200 players, it only lasted for a week until the viewers saw that he wasn't going back on the network. Another example, a network called IPvP hired Deadlox and he has 2.2mill subs he brought about 500+ players and after a week or so they all died down to 80. so personally i don't think youtubers will bring much unless you have a whole series setup. so i'd be careful on who you'd hire. :p

Just no...
If you don't know anything, don't give out random facts like you know what you're doing, all this info is just wrong, don't try misleading people please.
Not random facts, just telling him that I don't think spending money on you tubers is a good idea. And yes I know what I'm doing and i'm not "misleading" people, nor am i wrong. thanks for your concern. :p[DOUBLEPOST=1448227367,1448227315][/DOUBLEPOST]
Deadlox brought in 500+ players? wtf
Yea if that, he advertised space prison for them and didn't bring much people for the amount of subs he has.

You don't know what you're doing, please don't act like you are. For example, misleading the person above about Deadlox isn't helping, Deadlox didn't bring in the 500 people in for iPvP, that was through other methods, if you knew anything about youtubers or anything even about advertising, one look from his channel would immediately tell you that he doesn't bring in more than 500 joins, much less a playercount of 500. I'm not trying to be offensive here, don't take it the wrong way, but giving people the wrong info does more damage than you may intend to, with people wasting their money just because someone gave them the wrong info.
ha, i do know what i'm doing, and who are you? he did bring 500+ players for space prison/iPvP network, space prison now has 80+ players on daily, now since you're the "expert" please tell me what happened to them all and why paying youtubers to advertise isn't a waste of money. i have had experience with it and hiring youtubers or streamers is a big waste.

Hired Deadlox when he was at ~1.3m subs, server went from 35 players (where it had been for the past 2yrs) to 600 payers in about 6hrs. Brought in over 100,000 players over the life of the video. (Deadlox took it down once he decided to copy the server theme and direct players to his own network).
I wouldn't hire him again, or now, (he's kinda shit now).

But a YT'er of similar size should provide close to similar results.
If you have an 'Okay' or better server.
