The only thing I dislike about MCM is how people only care about your 'rep.' It's like it's more important than the trustworthiness of the person and their abilities. Here's what I also dont like about Mcm. People who dont have the "reputation" and want free things so they will make statements such as yours. I understand, their have been scams by repped users, but x100 by ones lower and around your level. Rep may not be the best indicator but it states that you have been in the community long enough to know the gists. Rep usually comes with Vouches as well which are a main indicator of trustworthiness. You may be a great guy, but not everyone knows you like you do.[DOUBLEPOST=1453939246,1453939171][/DOUBLEPOST]
Im not saying he isnt aloud, its up to the user. I had no rep and still dont have that much but If we wants a good first "Vouch" I recommend getting several or a few from Well Known Community members.
This is the exact problem. You act like I have to have 100 and vouches as proof that I'm a good guy. You are so concerned about being taken advantage of that you no longer trust anyone unless we're famous.
Rule 1. Never trust anyone on MCM.
Thats how it works, I dont like the system but If I were someone selling I would give it to the Most Well Known Member.
That's not the problem here. The problem is, why can't I vouch for him and get a vouch copy if I don't have a ton of reputation? Is my vouch less significant than yours?
I never said you cant, but I feel as time passes you earn the "Understanding & the trust" that is so hard to gain. More trusted = More Worth of the Vouch from What I see when I am Purchasing.

"reputation" is intangible. It cannot be represented by any number or set values. Its something you sense after having been here for a while, how reliable and trustworthy each member is.
That is why new members are generally unfit for "vouch copies", since a vouch from them will mean little. Why will it mean little? Because people have not had the chance to accurately judge their trustworthiness.
If you're new to the website and don't have someone who already has a reputation to vouch for you, you give away free stuff or do a simple deal with proof of ownership of whatever you are selling, or if you're buying you offer to go first with someone you've scouted out as being reliable.
I got lucky, I had someone to give me a kickstart by vouching. Yet I've built up most of my reputation here, not so much by raking up my post numbers, but by actually trying to make a useful contribution with almost every post.
Thats what I recommend you to do as well.
As for the rating-rep idiocy, Its gonna take a while for that trend to vanish.

It doesent matter, his vouches wouldent be as "Trustworthy" according to the community and personally I would trust a high rated member, rather than someone new
