Building a new PC

I haven’t had a PC in a couple years so I’m very excited to finally be getting a PC since I got a job a month ago as a Therapeutic Care Specialist.

I bought the Ryzen 5 1600 CPU, 120GB SSD, 1TB HD, Windows 10 and everything else I need, but I’m buying the GTX 1060 6GB GPU, 8GB RAM and the case next week when I get paid.

I’m so excited

Will definitely become more active once I have my computer, and hopefully will make some friends on here!

It's a nice rig. I got a new one a few weeks ago. I don't like AMD though.
Here are my specs, they're not much different:
Intel Core i5 7600K* (Overclocked to 4.0 GHz)
16GB DDR4 RAM
500GB SSD
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 G1

So far, it's quite a beast. I'm able to play games like GTA V and Forza Horizon 3 with great performance. I turn on VSync and never go under 60fps. This is also my first proper rig.

That’s an awesome rig. I was going to get a 1070 but feel the 1060 will be just fine. My last PC I had the Intel i5 4690, but a LOAD of people have recommended this AMD processor so I’ve gone with it.

You overclocked a locked CPU. Fascinating.. unless you messed with the UEFI

hey first off congrats dude secondly
i like your choice of the ryzen cpu along with the 1060, perfect choice, imo you should save for the future to get another stick of 8 gigs, i dont really think you need to buy windows 10 for like $90 since you can find a key for $15 only and is very legit

this is the K version whics unlocked lol ,it makes great difference between a non-k and a k intel cpu.

Looking good. What mobo and cooler did you opt for?

ASRock AB350M-HDV Motherboard, and as for the cooler, haven’t got one yet, but aren’t they pretty cheap? I think I had it on my list of parts to buy but removed it as I didn’t think one was needed.

you dont need one bro, that shit comes in the box except if your going hardcore overclock

Not sure exactly but it’s around $1500 AUD give or take $100
