Hello everybody!

Over the winter break, I will have a lot more time to spend on Minecraft and Computer Science.
Because of that, I'm going to try to earn a little bit more money, so I have decided to do plugin lessons!

To all you server owners who are sick of having to pay people for making your plugins, this will be a good way to not have to do that. I'm also trying to go at a pretty cheap rate.

I would be teaching you all sorts of cool things about Bukkit, like configuration, playerdata, events, commands, and more! No Java knowledge is needed, but if you know Java, it will go a whole lot faster - I can teach you more of the Bukkit API rather than Java.

I can either do what I think is a good progression to learning the Bukkit API, or pretty much anything else. During the 30 minutes you pay me for, I'm willing to answer any questions, and do whatever it is that helps you learn the best, whether that be me coding and explaining and you watching, you coding and me watching and helping, or whatever. You'd have to let me know.

I also will do discounts, based on every 5 lessons you purchase.
On your 5th lesson purchase, you will get $2 off.
On your 10th lesson purchase, you will get $4 off, or a free lesson.
On your 15th lesson purchase, you will get $6 off.
And so on, incrementing by $2 each time.

My rate is $4 per lesson, and each lesson is 30+ minutes.

I will also be fine with giving "homework exercises" that you could try to do on your own, based on what I teach you, and I'd help you if you needed it.

Other than that, you'd need to have TeamViewer or Skype or Google Plus or something, if you wanted to Screenshare, and you can use whatever environment you want, however, I use Eclipse Luna for my Mac and Eclipse Juno for my Windows. You can request I use my Mac or Windows, I don't really care, but I'm faster at typing on my Mac and I can't screenshare on Skype with my Windows computer. I'd really much prefer to use my Mac, but I'm fine either way.

I will also help you set up a test server and install the Java JDK and Eclipse and all, on your first lesson, if you need it. This will not be part of the 30 minutes for the lesson, so I will be doing it for free.

Lastly, if you were thinking of buying a close friend or family member a Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanza gift, or something like that, I will do this as a gift if needed. You just have to email me after paying me, letting me know who I have to teach. If you have any friends who are interested in computers + Minecraft, it's a great gift ;)

If you are interested in doing something fun and useful over the Winter holidays, feel free to let me know!

Thanks, and have a great day!

*Note: Java/Bukkit isn't that easy to learn too quickly, so one lesson is not enough. If you wish to only pay me for one, that is fine, but you will not be able to do much with what you learn in one lesson*

This isn't good -- teaching the Bukkit API before learning Java.

There's no point in getting taught something you don't understand, ex: learning the Bukkit API before learning the language it's written in, Java.

Which what people will come here for. I doubt anyone that needs plugin lessons knows about Java. If they did, why would they hire you?

Well it's true, Java knowledge would make this much easier. However, there are a lot of server owners who aren't interested in coding other than java. I'd teach all important java components, and if someone wanted, I could teach java too, not just bukkit.

I learned Forge mod coding before java. I struggled, but I was able to create mods, even if I didn't understand how to do much more than what I was taught. I know how hard it is, but I still think it's possible if someone really isn't interested in Java.

What :(

This would be like taking driving lessons from a kid that just got his permit and has yet to sit behind the wheel.
What are you talking about.
What I meant by that was if you knew java, I could teach you bukkit rather than going into details on Java as well.

You're correct, dyslexia is bad. D:
Yeah, it is :(

Java before bukkit = huge nono
It is if you are actually interested in learning to code. I'm willing to teach java too, if people want to learn that instead. However, many server owners are more interested in bukkit than java and I'm fine with just teaching the basics of Java for someone like that. It's the buyer's choice.

So eventually you'd pay us for taking less under you?

In all seriousness though, good thread. Good luck with sales!
Oh, thanks for pointing that out :p

Discounts stop at your 25th lesson purchase ($10 off)
