DDR4 or DDR3 RAM? How many Cores/Threads?
All of our Core i9 and upcoming Ryzen 7/9 servers have Samsung DDR4 RAM running at 2666MHz. We've found this to be the best balance of server-grade, non-ECC performance and stability.
These Core i9s have 8 cores and 16 threads at a 3.6GHz base clock, and in our 1U enclosures, we've seen stable sustained turbo clocks up to about 4.4GHz (with some higher bursts).
