I believe that we should have the ability to bump threads in the "General Discussion" and/or the "Suggestion & Bug Reports" section. I don't really see cons for having the ability to do this.

General discussion promotes casual, relevant and interesting chatter. If your thread isn’t picking up traction by itself, I’d consider it irrelevant. There’s no point in bumping threads which people aren’t interested in.

The bump feature only exists for threads where you’re selling products and services for obvious reasons I don’t believe I need to explain. However, those reasons aren’t applicable to general discussion.

To be honest I don't think that this is a bad idea at all. Just because something isn't a sale thread it doesn't mean that it isn't deserving of being displayed to more users if they care enough to bump it.

I'll open this back up for further discussion.

Since we received no new discussion to this it seems like this isn't really something that users want, and Lotus does have a valid point about general discussion threads sinking if they don't get traction. I also don't want suggestions to be bumped because I like them to sink before I respond to them to ensure that all relevant discussion has happened before a final decision is reached.
