This is a rough idea of a business I'm going to be making, please don't judge anything I say here too harshly as it could change at any time.

The fitness app world is broken, you either have to buy company x's product to just pay more the 'premium' workouts. Or you have to pay way more than any one of us would feel comfortable paying.

I want to change that, I want being healthy to be fun, and easy rather than putting you through death workouts which give you the illusion you're actually losing weight.

Im sure a load of us, myself included have put on a bit more weight than we'd of liked to during Lockdown, and with the way things are heading now it seems like we're going for another lockdown.

What if there was an app which combined all main steps to losing weight. So instead of having to track your calorie intake on this app and plan your meals on this app, you can just all input it on one simple app.

Presenting BetterYou, an app which doesn't charge you to be healthy.

In my opinion being healthy is a right - you shouldn't have to pay £599 for a watch which whilst amazing - just tracks your heart rate and has little rings on it. cough cough apple. Or you shouldn't have to invest in a fitness watch, just to have to pay more to gain access to other features cough cough FitBit. Im not saying I'm going to make a smart watch, I'm saying these watches don't make you lose weight, they simply give an illusion that they do.

BetterYou at launch will have just a website, where you can login and track your calories and log down stuff, whilst this may seem like a step down from the APPLE WATCH KILLER, we have to start somewhere.

From there, I intend on putting workouts for you, which use the information you've provided and what you like best, to make a workout which isn't killing you, but isn't a walk in the park.

Unlike Fitness+ (apples new service for fitness) all the workouts on BetterYou will be 100% free. No strings attached. And all the workouts cater to you, and only you.

While I probably am being ambitious for a app // website that might not even come to life this is just a concept.

Please leave any thoughts, feedbacks or if you absolutely hate it - please leave a reason why you hate it.

To the best of my knowledge, you can use the Fitbit app on your smartphone for free without having a Fitbit device.

This isn't an original idea. There's multiple apps you can use to manually record your calories and give you workout at home instructions. Ideally, the calories would be automatically added but this isn't really possible without a full smart home setup and using somethings like Samsungs Food Identification AI and making a rough estimate based on the weight difference in the fridge or something. Realistically, it's not plausable and not original. You'll need something else to differentiate yourself. If you have something original, feel free to DM me for potential investment, but you're going to have to be over 18.

Yeah, I agree its not a original idea, but everything I've seen so far is just always pushing you to pay for the subscription. The calories part might just be cut out in the end, and it might just be a workout app which makes it fun. Workouts are tailored to everyone so I'd want to build a system where it'd work the individual. Bodies aren't a one size fits all thing which is a major flaw in what I've seen nowadays.

Still exists. You answer a few questions and it'll tailor it to you according to your height, weight, and predetermined workouts rated on a level of 1-5 difficulty for you.

o.o really, damn. ANYWAY, It will be different somehow, not sure yet entirely - but soon we'll see.

I'm confused on what problem this solves. There's a lot of apps/sites out there that allow you to track calorie intake, do workouts, etc. Putting everything into one program doesn't make it a good nor fundamentally strong idea either. Look at all the social platforms out there. Each app has a designated purpose, people don't want to be overwhelmed (there's a reason why there isn't an instagram x snapchat x tiktok x discord app out there..).

Furthermore, you stated you wouldn't be charging anything. Therefore I'd assume you're making money off advertisements. The business of advertisements and selling data is extremely tough, what differentiates you to people looking to serve ads?

Overall it's a good idea, but at it's core it's just a poor replication of so many apps. Not to be harsh, but I believe my honest opinion is the best truth.

Doesn't matter if this idea is original or not,
long as you get some good marketing & a few key features that are a bit unique, ur good :)

So good luck!
