Business idea (NOT MINECRAFT RELATED).

Hello all,
I know this has nothing to do with Minecraft or games,
but recently i've got off my PC alot more and I do not seem to gain enough money for me to enjoy a income that's suitable for my needs.
I am year 11 ( I know it might sound weird, but my parents give me no money at all, what I am happy with as I've always earnt money since like being 11 years old ).

So I've got a business idea, and I was wondering what people though,

Like I have a range off sweet's / boxes what can go from Birthdays to weddings to random events.
It will have a specialised card with it for someone/people, with a custom message.
(I'm fortunate, my dad owns a printing company so I can get it cheap/free).

I'll purchase boxes in bulk where I'll get like 50 wooden boxes, that will contain the sweets.
I'll have a option for them to choose the sweets to go inside the box, and it will give you the grand total. The sweet's will also be bought in bulk, I am able to store these sweet's and boxes from my house as we've got 2 spare rooms that have nothing inside and are fairly cool.

I just want to know what people's idea on this would be as in my local area there is not alot of places that will go to the quality for the price I am thinking, I have looked I can order 50 wooden boxes for £100 what comes to the price of £2 per box and sweet's will be bought locally as there is a bulk hole sale shop near my house, it's fairly cheap.

I just was thinking what people would think off this idea, if it was profitable or not.
Most advertising will be done on Facebook, sales will be done on Twitter, facebook and ebay/amazon (if possible).

Marketing wise I've not looked into it that much, just looked at the price.

Anything can be profitable given you have accounted that there is a satisfying ratio between your satisfaction of profit margin to the relationship of supply and demand of the market you're trying to get into.

The idea does not sound at all proprietary, but this is not me saying you shouldn't do it. GL with it if you do seriously make it happen.

Hi there.

I personally think that this is a very good idea! It definitely has a lot of potential and I personally see it going far. However, one crucial thing to keep in mind is that if you do make the older community (weddings, birthdays etc) your main audience, then you will need a different advertisement method. Profit wise, there is definitely a good amount of profit which you could potentially obtain. That's after the prices. Good luck!

Thank's for the feedback, and about the advertisement methods, I am almost sure on Facebook buy and sell sights in you're local area there isn't much stuff going on, but i've spoken to people who are getting married and i found out 6 out of the 10 people I asked said they found them on Buy and sell pages.

I agree with this full, but portions will be reduced and i will buy plastic attractive bags to bag them up and separate so money would be saved as you can find out the right amount off sweet's put in, but thanks for the feedback.
