Buying your ratings?

Daym, there are many ''generous'' people on the MC-Market.

" 5$ / 10$ / 20$ Giveaway if you RATE the 1st comment you have a chance to win them!''
'' Account giveaway if you RATE''
'' Cape giveaway if you RATE''

Everyone acts like they are generous people, but in the end they just want to buy ratings and to benefit from them. They will be like .. "Look at my ratings, I'm popular that means I'm trustworthy."

Never occured to you, that the person might just give them to any of his friends on the MC-Market, and say that he was a randomly picked? Not to mention that some giveaways end up with: "I've PMed the winner thanks for participating".

In the end giveaways always smell like a big a** scam. I believe such giveaways with the idea of getting better rating should be banned from this site.

I concur with your opinion, however:
How will you know whether the give away is a scam or is legitimate? A person could just say, "Post in the comments below," and it could be a scam; or a person can say "like, comment, subscribe to youtube, follow on twitter and instagram, and like on facebook" and the giveaway would be legitimate. I think what you are saying has a valid point, but why banned from the forums?

Who cares how many ratings one receives? One could care more for Kim Jon Un than how many ratings you have on the forum: It is not a competition.

*If it was, I would win* . Seriously though, I think this could make for a good discussion. I think this topic should have been brought up as I too think giveaways are ludicrous.

You have a point indeed, we can't say if a giveaway is a scam or not, but still players are just doing it to get rating. And about what you said, I've seen many players in the forums saying: look at my rating I'm trustworthy or something of that kind.

A giveaway of 10$ can get 50 or more Likes lel.
I bet if I make such giveaways 5$ each, I'll get pretty much the same amount of likes. So ye, bout 60$ are needed to get more rating than one of the first members who joined the site.
