Calling a US number from the UK

I am from the UK and I need to call a US number.. however, my contract provide Virgin media charge £2 per minute which is fuckin expensive. Is there any way around this or another way of calling the number for cheaper?

You try text now? I've had a great experience with them. You might have to trick their service into thinking you're in the US or something when you signup though.

Google voice works, you can probably find someone selling a verified account for like 3$
