I haven't watched much, but I've haven't watched less either. I'll suggest a list of animes, then movies, and then I'll put a list of one's that I watched and thought was a waste of time in case you're about to watch them.

Series:
- Charlotte (sad)
- Ajin (sci-fi fiction)
- Mob Psycho 100 (sci-fo fiction, might get a tad bit boring at parts)
- Attack on Titan (idk what genre prolly fiction lmao and action and thriller but super cool)
- Parasyte (idk sci-fi beings, romance? but its super short, one season. youll love it)
- Dr. Stone (Science? idk lol i watched a few then stopped but its very cool)

Movies:
- A Silent Voice (sad; written by my fav author, one of the best anime illustrations)
- Your name (sci-fi, romance; same writer as above movie)
- Princess mononoke (wasnt the best, but you might enjoy; pretty oldschool)
- Akira (i never watched but a friend goes crazy over it, but its supposed to be really cool)

Wastes:
- When I was reincarnated as a slime (stopped after first episode, i dont think ill ever watch)
- Spirited Away (if you like animes that have hidden meanings or random metaphorical shit that you find interesting, youll like this; i didn't)
- Tokyo Ghoul (I read the manga, it's enjoyable. But a lot goes on the anime. I mean, I watched after every release, so I kinda forgot parts. Maybe youll enjoy it because you can finish it all at once, idk. But personally I found it very confusing and so did my friends)

I don't remember any more i could write about. But definitely watch Charlotte

Here is a good mix of shows to watch.
For the current season, my favorite is 'Sing "Yesterday" for Me' which is super good.
Bakuman is one of my favorites and it's a show based on manga artists (I don't even read manga!)
