Can I use an OVH vps as a proxy?

This is my plan:
1) Buy a vps on OVH
2) Install a vpn server
3) If someone gets my ip he will ddos the vps (He shoudn't be able to drop the vps because of the OVH ddos protection)

Is it possible? Has someone tried it?
