Can PvP/old game modes still work?

Hey MCM.

I'll make this short. I got out of Minecraft for quite a while and was contemplating on whether or not to make a server. The biggest issue for me is the game mode (or modes, haven't decided yet). I've noticed that the only game mode that's really popular is survival, SMP, towny, or some other variation of the three.

However, I wouldn't enjoy making any of those. The game modes I enjoy don't seem to have a lot of players still playing, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. What should I do? I'd appreciate any suggestions you guys have.

Any game mode can become popular, it really comes down to is it enjoyable to play, If your able to make your game mode fun it can become super popular, I suggest researching and finding new ways to make you game modes more interesting or fun either by adding twists or things that haven’t been added yet.

It definitely does thank you so much for the reply. I definitely have some different ideas I'd like to implement that I believe would really stand out. My only concern was if people still played kitpvp or faction servers and just PvP servers in general. I didn't want to make a server of a popular game mode just because it was popular and I would hate doing it, if that makes sense.

Yeah I understand, If you really wanted to you could make up your own game mode by taking parts of the gamemodes you enjoy and putting them together to create something new and enjoyable.

I've seen skyblock and Factions PvP rise up recently.

1.8 faction servers? I'm surprised that's the case. I'll definitely consider skyblock as that's something I wanted to do. My main concern was if PvP servers can still maintain a playerbase.[DOUBLEPOST=1614279073][/DOUBLEPOST]

Solid idea. I have thought about taking bits and pieces from old gamemodes from servers I've played and what not. Thanks so much for the idea!

Yes it's worth it. Get a good dev and make it all unique but og. GL !

Oh that's assuring. I'd like to do a kitpvp or possibly factions so. Could that work too?
