Can someone help me fix my essentials from going in emergency mode [Paying $5]

i can't get my essentials to work. i have spigot 1.8.8 and everytime i try to use essentials & i start my server with essentials it says essentials went in emergency mode
please PM if you can want to help!

does it say essentials protect went in emergency mode or just essentials went in emergency mode?

You have to use the spigot version of essentials not craftbukkit of essentials.
