Can you make NPCs talk with audio in Minecraft

Hi everyone, I am making a Minecraft therapy server and the kids interact with a lot of NPCs in it. Some of the younger ones can't read very well yet and it would be great if we could make it so the NPCs could speak with audio. Does anyone know if this would be possible? Even if it meant paying for a Mod to be developed?

It's definitely possible to do with mods, should also be doable with resource packs though or data packs on 1.15+.

That is awesome what you’re doing and I fully support your ideas. It is beneficial for the community and a great concept. Push hard and it should turn on great (unless it’s already released) Good luck!

Thanks Requal, we have started seeing clients and using it online and its been great. Each session is a minigame and we are still pumping out content and need some help.

I've used a mod that allowed custom NPCs to speak to you. I believe you could go into the mod files and modify what they say too which was pretty cool.
