Can't upload images to thread drafts

So, normally you can do this after pressing "upload a file"

But when creating a "Thread draft" this is what happens -

I use it to check how a thread design looks on the website, you can copy and paste the image link to upload it but it's kinda annoying, not the biggest deal in the world tho, just thought I'd get it out there. I doubt it's intentional but what do I know

This seems like a really really minor thing and I can't think of what's causing this off the top of my head at the moment. We'll be updating to XF2 in the next few months and when we do that since we're doing a full rewrite of everything it's pretty likely that this will magically fix itself then.
