Cape on unmigrated account?

Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to redeem a cape on an unmigrated account or do you have to migrate first?

Thinking about getting a cape but I really don't want to migrate the account (yes I know it's unsafe),

Yeah, it is possible because if there are unmigrated accounts with 2015 capes, a cape code had to have been used on an unmigrated account.
